Tottenham Hotspur fans who booed keeper Guglielmo Vicario were told later "those individuals cannot be true Tottenham fans" by manager Thomas Frank.

Spurs let in a pair of scores in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, marking their tenth top-flight at home loss of 2025.

However the primary topic of discussion was the visitors' second score when Vicario lost possession far beyond his box.

He ventured out to deal with a long ball and took the ball towards the touchline.

But, instead of booting it into touch, the Italy international spun and attempted to clear, but lost his footing as the ball skimmed off Wilson and was collected by King.

The forward laid the ball off to Welsh midfielder Harry Wilson, who curled a shot into the net from the touchline measured at thirty-six point six yards.

Moments afterwards when the ball came to Vicario again, a number of Tottenham fans jeered him.

The team were jeered off at half-time, with the club 2-0 down, and again at the final whistle.

A particular of those booing sessions really irritated Frank.

"I heard a few of our fans reportedly booed the incident and jeered following, which, in my opinion is totally unjustifiable," the Dane stated regarding the fans' reaction to his shot-stopper.

"Those individuals cannot be real Tottenham fans that do that. Fair enough booing after the game, no problem, but when we are playing, we are backing one another, we are with each other going forward."

Tete had given the visitors a fourth-minute advantage prior to Harry Wilson's strike – with Mohammed Kudus netting for Spurs in an better second period performance.

Ex- top-flight keeper Joe Hart stated that the next score was "totally avoidable".

"I certainly appreciate the supporters' frustration," Hart added. "I am aware the role Vicario is playing. He is a great squad member, he is a true leader in the dressing room but in the end you are going to be judged by your decisions.

"He was heavily implicated in what ended up to be the decisive score."

'It is Part of Football, I'm a Big Man'

He stated after the match that he had to take the criticism.

"The second score was a error of mine, I take responsibility for it," he commented.

"My aim was to clear the ball long and I simply hit the ball in a bad manner. It was an even bigger mountain to climb."

He stated receiving jeers "comes with football".

"I am mature, what can I say?" he added. "The team can't be affected by the circumstances in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do as they see fit.

"It's on the team to stay increasingly calm, to focus on our own performance. The team is lacking in calmness and poise to overturn results. Today is a poor defeat and it is tough to accept."

'I Was Surprised No One Returned to the Goal Line'

Despite the keeper's error, it was not an simple score for Wilson to score.

While the keeper's error led coverage, this was an overall bad performance for Spurs to extend their home woes.

The match was their 10th at home loss of the year in the league, a shared team statistic along with 1994 and 2003.

The side still have home games against the manager's old side Brentford and champions the Reds to play before the close of the year.

Just a single of those wins have occurred after Frank took over from his predecessor in the summer.

"When you're behind 2-0 after the opening, there is a huge challenge to overcome," stated Frank.

"When you're in a bad spell, all aspects seems to work against you too – the first was a deflected attempt, the next is a mistake from the keeper.

"This result puts us in a place where we have lost another game. Each fixture has a single narrative, this game we were defeated in the first six minutes.

"We just need to continue striving. The later period was much better and with luck something we can utilize to develop."

Tottenham have lost four consecutive at home capital clashes for the initial time in the top division.

Furthermore they are averaging nine point five attempts and 3.2 efforts on goal per match in the division – their lowest rates on record in a one campaign (since at least 2003-04).
