The Perfect Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Super Form According to the Astrological Sign
The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread excitement across the fandom. From the gradual reveal of fresh additions ahead of the game's release, to trainers forming strong opinions on the full lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
With many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique appearances that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: How can link this with astrology? This list is inspired by a blend of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.
Aries – Super Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was almost selected for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom appears as always angry, which isn't typical of the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and spontaneous. This makes Aries much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Remain on the good side of either and enjoy a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to face the consequences.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a devoted Taurus, the steadfast Heracross species, both in its regular and Mega form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though trustworthy, both the Pokémon and a Taurus are also Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will stand up for their position to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for snacks. Several past Pokédex entries mention their craving for sweet sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it all, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Observe this absolute royalty. It's impossible to tell me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless fountain of chatter to anyone who wants to listen. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly simple to envision Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their stories. Medicham’s official description also states its ability to predict an enemy’s next moves, which sounds very similar to a people-smart Gemini.
Cancer – Super Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a intense symbol known for often getting wrapped up in their feelings. Per the official info, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its ability to create a thundercloud over its own self – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.
The Lion – Mega Starmie
Well, did you think I was planning to pick Pyroar for the king of the zodiac? Besides the fact that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too glamorous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Fans were captivated from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Leo offers to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be broadcasting signals from its center out into space, and it’s just like a Leo to be staging a performance, albeit for aliens.
The Maiden – Super Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Virgo is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual digestive issues. The sign known for being endearingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised face like a Maiden when you tell them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the chatroom when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of making a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Observe this sweet, sensitive being, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how people are feeling by their heartbeat. Always empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and striving to keep the peace, there are numerous Scales who would probably benefit from Super Audino's skills. Though, to be frank, it would likely just make them worry more about everyone else.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a doll, it became consciousness through pure hatred and swore revenge on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion adores karma and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a show. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve called myself some version of a “playful little entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Super Form, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “flexes to show off its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Sagittarius match I can think of.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee calamities in advance? That gives the exact same vibe as a Capricorn, who often always believe they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very first Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – just like a Capricorn to get in on the beginning of the Mega trend.
The Water Bearer – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Aquarius is arguably the non-fire placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's dual Ghost/Fire typing fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet persuaded, the Super Form's Pokédex entry says it “draws in hatred and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
