Star Denies Anti-Vax Position Following Voicing Contentious Pandemic Documentary
Liam Neeson has given his narration to a feature-length documentary that questions the efficacy of immunizations and commends ex- cabinet secretary the political figure.
The Documentary's Disputed Origins
Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the pandemic for claims that the virus was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.
The publication's co-author, the executive producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone radio host Alex Jones. He wrote online praising Neeson's participation in the documentary.
A Strong Rebuttal
A spokesperson for the actor have provided a comment firmly refuting implications that he subscribes to anti-vaccine beliefs.
"Many understand that misconduct may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be equated to opposition to vaccines," the comment reads. "Neeson has never been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His considerable work with the UN children's agency underscores his long-held support for public-health initiatives."
The statement noted that the performer had no hand in the documentary's narrative and that inquiries about its content ought to go to the creators.
Major Themes In the Feature
In the film, the script provided by Neeson features several controversial points:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It argues that "medical science has become dangerously politicised."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
- The narration further attacks stay-at-home orders, saying they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it mentions a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."
Previous Controversy and Ongoing Issues
The film includes a 2004 BBC documentary about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the topic of a formal apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
Recently, the political figure instructed the Centers for Disease Control to alter its longstanding position that there is no link between vaccines and autism. This supposed link is echoed in the film, despite a recent study from the World Health Organisation reiterating no such link has been found.
An Earlier Record of Support
Standing in contrast to the documentary's tone, Neeson has formerly shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he referred to vaccines as "an extraordinary achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's voice stating, "This isn't the conclusion of our narrative. This is the start of a new chapter."
